Clive Barker's Tortured Souls : le film

Je ramène ici un thread que j'avais ouvert dans l'ancien forum. Comme vous le savez sans doute, Barker a comme projet de restranscrire en film ses Tortured Souls... Oui, le projet est carrément intéressant pour tout fan d'hellraiser qui se respecte.

Aussi je vous propose de mettre dans ce thread toutes les infos que l'on connait au sujet de ce projet, les news récentes (ahem..) etc.

En bon prince, je vous laisse commencer

clair et net que c'est un projet qui m'interesse au plus haut point. j'attends egalement ce film de pieds ferme, ainsi que le nom du maquilleur.
mais est ce que quelqu'un a lu les nouvelles ??

je pense que tout bon fan d'hellraiser attend impatiament ce nouveau film en espérant que les persos soient aussi beaux que les figurines

personnellement, j'ai l'impression que le projet ait avorté, ce qui m'ennuie quelque peu.

Mais rien n'etant officiel, je garde espoir

pas annulé mais repoussé a 2007.
barker ecrit le scenar avec Hans Rodionoff ( deja en collaboration avec barker pour Saint Sinner ) et deja responsable d'un Sucker the Vampire pour le compte de la Troma.

For those wondering whether this film is still getting made, Clive Barker was at Rue Morgue's Festival of Fear, where he revealed that the film will eventually be made, but not as quickly as people would like since he chose to put his books first. Thanks to DC.

A Clive Barker site posted an interview with the man himself, where he goes over his various projects, one of which included Tortured Souls. Sadly, it doesn't look like the movie is going to happen, here's what was quoted from the interview: "So... I finish all the drafts for Universal and the people I'm dealing with at Universal are really cool people and one of them says, 'I don't think we're going to make this movie,' and I said, 'OK... Why?' and they said, 'Because I think we're going to have to make another movie with demons in it and we don't want to be making two demon movies...'" Read more here.

Writer Hans Rodionoff had an interview with Comics2Film where he revealed some info on this and various other upcoming projects. According to the site, the film is in pre-production and rapidly moving forward. Here's some of what was said... "Right now, Clive [Barker] is tweaking the script. The last I heard, they were getting ready to turn in Clive's draft to the studio in the next few weeks. The basic plot of the movie concerns a man who decides to exchange his wife for a demon. The exchange sends his wife to a place called Primordium, where she must battle her way across a hostile landscape to try and get back home."

As some may already know, the toys the project is based on, originally came with short stories written by Clive himself, detailing the history of the toy. Hans used some of the stories as a basis for his screenplay. Here's what he said... "There is a core mythology of Primordium that's built in the novellas. That core mythology is respected and expanded. There are characters from both figure lines in the script. Fans of the action figures can expect to see some familiar faces, but there will also be things that will be new to everyone".

Director Clive Barker gave Fango a brief update on the film, saying... "I’m turning in the script in four weeks, and if Universal likes it, they’re prepared to go into production right away. I’ve taken the Tortured Souls toys and really expanded their universe, so it’ll be different than what fans are expecting."

During an interview with Revelations Clive Barker tells them:

"So... I finish all the drafts for Universal and the people I'm dealing with at Universal are really cool people and one of them says, 'I don't think we're going to make this movie,' and I said, 'OK... Why?' and they said, 'Because I think we're going to have to make another movie with demons in it and we don't want to be making two demon movies...'

"And, you know, I've been this way before, there's no use trying to persuade somebody, I mean a corporate decision is a corporate decision. But what I do have is a lot of people around town who would like to make this movie, so my hope is that between now and Christmas... though Christmas sort of starts early in L.A...

So it's not the end of the world, but Universal is going to regret this when the movie banks in $50 million at the box office.

j'ai lu quelque part une interview où Barker dit que les fans des statuettes ultragore qu'il a fait sculpter par Mac Farlane risquaient d'être assez déçus car le film s'annonce plutôt soft et joue beaucoup plus sur l'esthétique goth-sm que sur le gore.

les monstres seront beaucoup plus "propres" que les figurines, fort dommage mais on s'y attendait un peu, barker a toujours vu la censure charcuter son travail on a l'habitude...

oui on l'habitude du charcutage de son boulot.. j'espere que le film sera bon tout de même... il y a moyen de faire quelque chose de vraiment special.
